Foods To Avoid When On A Weight Loss Mission

When you’re trying to lose weight, you may come across several weight-loss-friendly diets that will encourage you to consume various food items. But what about the many foods you should completely avoid eating? We’ll talk about them today!

The foods you consume have a major impact on your overall health and weight. Some foods, such as coconut oil, avocados, and whole eggs, help you with weight loss. On the other hand, there are other foods, incredibly refined and processed products, that can lead to weight gain.

White bread

White bread may look harmless and straightforward. However, it is highly refined and is packed with added sugar. Not just that, but it is also high on the glycemic index. Hence, it can spike blood sugar levels.

Cookies and cakes

Similar to other processed foods, cakes and cookies also include unhealthy ingredients like refined flour and added sugar. Besides, they may also come with artificial trans fats, making them more harmful to your overall health.

Most Fruit Juices

Fruits are whole and healthy, but this is not the case with most fruit juices. The bottles of “organic” and “fresh” fruit juices you find at supermarkets are usually different from whole fruits. They are highly processed and packed with added sugar.

Some packed fruit juices may even contain as many calories and sugar as soda.

Sugary Beverages

Sugar-sweetened drinks are among the unhealthiest foods in the world. They not only lead to weight gain but also several health conditions.

Sugary drinks are in liquid form. Hence, they don’t fill you up. So, you’re not going to eat any less food even when you consume excess calories from sugary beverages. If you want to lose weight and maintain it, we suggest you say entirely no to sugary drinks.

High-Calorie Coffee Drinks

Unsweetened coffee is great for your health as well as for losing weight. However, when you drink commercial sweetened coffee or add sugar and cream to your cup of coffee (or tea), they become unhealthy like any other sugar-sweetened drink.

French Fries

Whole potatoes are highly satisfying and healthy. However, potato chips and French fries are not. As delicious as they may taste, they are very high in calories. Hence, it’s best if you avoid them when you’re trying to lose weight.

Candies

Candies or candy bars include lots of added oils, refined flour, and added sugar/. Hence, they are very unhealthy. Besides, sweets do not provide any nutritional value, yet they are high in calories.

If you are craving a snack, it’s best to substitute candy bars with nuts or fruits.

Pizza

Pizza is a favorite fast food for most people. However, the pizzas you order from your favorite fast-food corner can be very unhealthy. They’re not only high in calories but also contain ingredients like processed meat and refined flour.

If you can’t say no to pizzas, you can get a little creative, bring out the chef in you, and try making a delicious homemade pizza using healthier ingredients.
